Attorney
It is the duty of the Wapello County Attorney's Office to prosecute all state criminal law violations that occur in Wapello County. It is also responsible for enforcing county ordinances and other state laws that apply to Wapello County. In addition to its duty to prosecute violations of the law, the Wapello County Attorney’s Office also provides legal advice to the Board of Supervisors and other County officials concerning county matters, provides State representation in all mental health commitment proceedings, as well as all matters involving issues of juvenile delinquency and child in need of assistance cases. It also represents and defends the county and its officers in officially related cases, if necessary.
