Steve Siegel, Board Supervisor

 

Steve Siegel has been on the Wapello County Board of Supervisors since 1997 and is currently serving his fourth term.  Siegel also works as a Union Representative for AFSCME/Iowa Council 61 and has since 1994.  Prior to that, he worked as a social worker for the Iowa Department of Human Services for nearly twenty years. 

 

Siegel is married to Vicki Siegel, an attorney in private parctice in Ottumwa who previously served two terms as Wapello County Attorney.  He has four sons (Jim, 30; Andy, 29; Tom, 19; and Chris, 18), and two granddaughters (Lenora, 9; and Zelda, 7).

 

Siegel was born in Davenport, Iowa and grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa.  He graduated from Bettendorf High School and received a BA from Grinnell College.  In addition Siegel earned Master's degrees from the University of Kansas and the University of California at Berkeley.

 

Currently Siegel serves on a number of committees representing Wapello County.  Among them are River Hills Riverboat Authority, Southern Iowa Mental Health, DHS Decat, Pathfinders RC&D, SIDCA, Mental Health 28E, REAP, Wapello County Trails, American Gothic House Center 28E and RSVP.
