General Description: Located in intensively farmed region in
the southeast portion of Wapello County,
Cardinal Wildlife Area is a refuge for
grassland wildlife. The majority of this
area has been restored to native prairie.
An oak grove occurs on the east end of
the property with Rock Creek flowing
along most of the northern border.
Although small, this area can provide
good upland game hunting.
Location: 2 miles north of Eldon, just off Hwy 16 on 35th Avenue, Section 15, Washington Township
