Iowa's Owls: Are Owls a vertebrate or an invertebrate? What group of animals does the owl fit into? We will answer those questions and more as we discover the characteristics and lives of Iowa’s Owls.
You Can Judge An Animal By Its Cover: We will discuss the difference between vertebrate and invertebrate animals, the five groups of vertebrate animals, how each is different and how they may be a bit alike. Student interaction will be encouraged with the use of props.
Awesome Amphibians and Rockin’ Reptiles: We will investigate how these animals fit into the web of life and into the vertebrate category. We will compare and contrast the lives, coverings and habits of these animals with the help of live animals.
Secret Life of Trees: We see trees every day. Where did that tree come from and what will it become? Students will explore how trees grow, different parts of the tree and how trees are used by humans and other animals. Just think about all the things around you made from trees.
