Public Health: Meet the Director

Lynelle Diers, RN, BSN, BSW has been the Clinical Director of Wapello County Public Health since 1996. Diers graduated from Panora-Linden High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Iowa Wesleyan College. She started working for Ottumwa Public Health in 1989 as a staff nurse. Ottumwa Public Health merged with Wapello County Public Health in 1993. Diers became the Home Care Aide Supervisor in 1995 and the Clinical Director in 1996.
She and her husband Norm of almost thirty years have raised three children: Jeremy, Jarrod and Jolyn. Their son Jeremy is married and lives out of state; their daughter Jolyn is completing a Bachelors Degree in Communication from Iowa Wesleyan College; and their hearts and thoughts are with their son Jarrod who will be deployed to Afghanistan for a year as of April 2010.
