What is VINE?

VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) is a service through which victims of
crime can use the telephone or Internet to search for information regarding their offender's
custody status and register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when their offender's
custody status changes.

Don Kirkendall has been the Wapello County Sheriff since 1996.  Kirkendall graduated from Ottumwa High School and is a US Army Veteran.  He began his career as a Jailer in 1978, was appointed Deputy Sheriff in 1979, was appointed Chief Deputy in 1988 and was elected County Sheriff in 1996.  He and his wife Cyndi have three children.
