Clerk
The Wapello County Assessor Office is accepting applications for a clerk position. This is a full time position that will transition into Office Manager upon retirement of current Office Manager.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and balance all expenses and payroll requisitions and ledgers.
- Supervise and participate in the preparation and filing of homestead credit and military exemption applications and other exempt and credit applications.
- Process division of assessment requests from the County Auditor and see that all corresponding assessment records & maps are updated.
- Follow up with Auditor and GIS on any issues
- Update ownership changes on assessment records and update county maps.
- Update and file assessment records as requested by the Assessor.
- Process sales on Camavision & Declarations of Value - upload to Iowa Department of Revenue
- Balance the assessor’s reconciliation & abstract report for all valuation changes.
- Balance and send Abstract & Recon to State of Iowa yearly
- Provide assessment and ownership information requested by the public.
- Assist with the Board of Review.
- Process Forest Reserve applications
- Process Two Tier Limitations for Commercial properties
- Compare values between Camavision (Assessor’s assessment program) & Solutions (county main frame)
- Update Camavision software as needed.
- Update Wapello County Assessor’s website.
- Order office supplies.
