Operator III/Utility Operator
120 Day Probationary Period: $27.85 Laborer I/Entry Level Position
Wapello County Secondary Road Department is receiving applications for the job of UTILITY OPERATOR. Job duties include but not limited to: operates motor grader (with attachments), tractor (with attachments), dump trucks and other equipment with complex controls. Constructs and maintains highways, rural roads, and the right-of-way for the safety and connectivity of the traveling public. Duties as defined in Wapello County Job Description for UTILITY OPERATOR dated 6/27/23.
Applicants should be physically able to perform the duties, must have knowledge in operation of type of equipment and must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a CDL license, Class A with air brake endorsement issued by the State of Iowa.
Successful applicants will be given a 120 day qualifying period for position. County Engineer will determine if applicant is qualified.
Job is open until filled. Final positions will be determined by department bid process currently ongoing. Applications will be reviewed on December 30th, 2025.
