Operator II/Truck Driver

Wapello County Secondary Road Department is receiving applications for multiple openings, including but not limited to the job of MOTOR GRADER OPERATOR and TRUCK DRIVER. Job duties include but not limited to: operates motor grader (with attachments), tractor (with attachments), dump trucks and other equipment with complex controls. Constructs and maintains highways, rural roads, and the right-of-way for the safety and connectivity of the traveling public. Duties as defined in Wapello County Job Description for Motor Grader Operator, Truck Driver and Laborer dated 1/20/16.

Applicants should be physically able to perform the duties, must have knowledge in operation of type of equipment and must have a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a CDL license, Class B with air brake endorsement issued by the State of Iowa.

Successful applicants will be given a 90 day qualifying period for position. County Engineer will determine if applicant is qualified.

Job is open until filled. Final positions will be determined by department bid process currently ongoing. Applications will be reviewed on August 5th, 2025.
