Annual Permits & Oversize Permit Policies
It is the policy of the Wapello County Engineer not to issue annual permits for Wapello County. Wapello County will issue oversize permits to individuals on a trip-by-trip basis. Due to the number of projects going on within the county, this enables the county engineer to be aware of traffic in and out of the county and hopefully will avoid any mishaps from road closures or bridge projects.
Annual Specific Route permits are available subject to County Engineer approval. Please contact our office for more information.
Please complete the permit request and hit “submit form.” The request will then be emailed to email@example.com. You can print and fax the trip permit request to 641-684-8539.
Be sure to fill in the “valid dates” field for the days you are requesting the permit for. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.
Adopt – A – Highway
The objective of this program is to create public awareness of environmental needs along Wapello County highways and roadways by making adopted sections of roadsides an example of opportunities to improve the aesthetics of our county. The Adopt-A-Highway Program allows individuals or groups to adopt a certain highway/roadside. Through adoption, they may assume responsibility for any or all of the eligible items. Please refer to the Adopt-A-Highway Program packet and application.
